Capitalism for the win! I hope things like this make people take a second look at socialized medicine.

healthiest people in the world: france. medicine: "socialized". chuck: the results are in: the US spends stupid amounts of money to provide terrible care (even to rich people). our system is broken and people who complain about "socialized" medicine are those standing in the way of fixing it.

there are key, important differences between quebec and all of europe, by the way. in quebec private insurance was illegal. in europe there is a hybrid system where *everyone* is guaranteed healthcare, but some people pay insurance in order to get access to care sooner or at better facilities. it works really well.

quebec's system is very different from the rest of canada's, chuck. overall, the canadian system works very well and *much* better than the US system. the quebequois system did, indeed, have a prohibition against all private health insurance that was struck down by the canadian supreme court last year. since then it has been getting better, too.
